HR — performance, lifecycle, history

This article covers HR-2 + HR-3 features layered on top of the HR foundation in HR.

Performance reviews

On any employee profile (/hr/employees/<id>), add a review with: period (e.g., "2026-Q1"), date, overall rating 1–5, strengths, growth areas, summary. History stays on the profile in reverse-chrono order.

Goals / OKRs

Add per-employee goals: title, description, target date. Update status (open / in_progress / done / canceled) and progress % inline from the profile table.

1:1 meetings

Log every 1:1 with topics discussed and action items. Manager auto-attributed.

Onboarding / offboarding checklists

Admins create reusable templates at /hr/checklists — name, kind (onboarding / offboarding / other), and a list of items (one per line). Apply a template to any employee from their profile; click checkboxes to mark items done; auto-completes when the whole list is checked.

Org chart

/hr/org-chart — reporting tree built from manager assignments. Visible to anyone with HR access (admin or has_hr_access flag).

Disciplinary log

/hr/employees/<id> Disciplinary log section. Severity levels: verbal → written → final → termination. Summary, actions taken, follow-up date. Add/edit visible to anyone with HR access; delete is admin-only.

Salary history

Auto-tracked when an admin or has_finance_access flag holder changes hourly_cost on the employee form. Shows: effective date, from amount, to amount, who changed it. Useful for compensation reviews and audit trail. Visible to anyone with HR access.

Permissions reminder

All HR-2 / HR-3 features sit behind the HR access flag: admin always has it, anyone else needs an admin to tick "Grant HR access" on their employee record. See Roles.
